Pradyut Bordoloi Joins BJP; Son’s Political Future Remains Uncertain

Nagaon MP Pradyut Bordoloi has officially joined the BJP, sparking speculation about his son Parteek Bordoloi, who remains in Congress. Parteek currently holds a key role in the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee and is contesting from Margherita.

Bordoloi stated that political decisions in his family are independent and said his son is free to choose his own path. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also emphasized that individual political choices should not be linked to family members.

Bordoloi described his switch as emotionally difficult, citing dissatisfaction within Congress. BJP leaders indicated that more leaders from other parties may join in the future.
