Pradyut Bordoloi Warns of Leaving Congress Over Lahorighat Ticket Row

Nagaon MP Pradyut Bordoloi has warned he may quit the Indian National Congress if the Lahorighat Assembly ticket is given to MLA Dr. Asif Nazar. Bordoloi wrote to Jitendra Singh of the All India Congress Committee, alleging that a criminal accused of attacking him in 2025 had links with Nazar and was later publicly welcomed.
He also expressed disappointment with Gaurav Gogoi, claiming the APCC chief remained silent when allegations against him were dismissed in a party meeting. Bordoloi said he would present evidence to the Congress high command.
Reacting to the controversy, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed Bordoloi may eventually leave the party due to internal conflicts.
