President Droupadi Murmu to Attend 27th Hornbill Festival Opening on December 1

Kohima: President Droupadi Murmu has consented to attend the inaugural ceremony of the 27th Hornbill Festival on December 1, 2026, coinciding with Nagaland Statehood Day. Tourism Minister Temjen Imna Along confirmed the development while speaking to reporters in Kohima on Saturday.

The minister also discussed plans to introduce a public-private partnership (PPP) model for Kisama Heritage Village, stating that stakeholder consultations would precede any final decision. He further said that Polo Hotel Kohima, currently operating under a PPP arrangement, is expected to receive five-star classification upon completing the required formalities.
