Primary Teachers to Hold Nationwide Protest in Delhi on Nov 24

Primary teachers across India will stage a major protest in New Delhi on November 24, demanding withdrawal of the mandatory TET requirement and restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). The move follows a Supreme Court verdict making TET compulsory for all teachers, which educators say could invalidate earlier appointments and ongoing recruitments.
AIPTF Working President Ratul Chandra Goswami said nearly 23 lakh teachers are upset, and about 50,000 are expected to join the protest at Jantar Mantar, including a delegation from Assam. Teachers also reject the government’s new Unified Pension Scheme, calling it inadequate compared to OPS.
