Prime Minister Narendra Modi Confident of NDA Retaining Power in Assam

Narendra Modi has expressed strong confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will continue in power in Assam, stating that the State is set for “five more years” of a double-engine government.
Ahead of his April 1 visit, Modi highlighted Assam’s development over the past decade, attributing it to coordinated efforts between the Centre and the State. He said the progress across sectors has strengthened public support for the NDA.
The Prime Minister will also interact with BJP workers and citizens through a virtual rally on March 30 at 1 pm via the NaMo App under the “Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot Samvaad – Assam” initiative.
Himanta Biswa Sarma backed Modi’s statement, noting significant improvements in connectivity and heritage preservation, and expressed confidence that people will once again support the NDA.
BJP leaders believe Modi’s engagement will boost the party’s campaign momentum. As per party sources, Modi is expected to arrive on March 31, stay in Dibrugarh, and address rallies in Dhemaji and Behali on April 1. He is also likely to return on April 6 for campaign events in Hojai, Barpeta Road, and Moran.
Assam will go to polls on April 9, with vote counting scheduled for May 4.
