Protest Against Excavation at Hokuma Beel Over Ecological Concerns

A local group has demanded an immediate halt to excavation work at Hokuma Beel, a biodiversity-rich wetland within the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve area.

The Bokakhat Construction Group submitted a memorandum alleging the work is being carried out without proper planning or public awareness. They warned that the activity could harm the region’s ecological balance if not stopped.
