Wild Buffalo Found Dead on Brahmaputra Sandbar, Locals Allege Delay

A wild Wild Water Buffalo was found dead on a sandbar along the Brahmaputra River in Palashbari under West Kamrup Forest Division on Monday.

The animal had strayed into the area days earlier and showed aggressive behaviour. Locals later noticed its health worsening, with severe maggot infestation.

Forest and veterinary teams reached the spot, but the buffalo had already died, reportedly due to weakness and inability to feed. Residents have alleged negligence and delayed response by authorities, while officials termed the incident unfortunate.
