Protest Halts Road Construction Through Maskara Tea Estate

Sivasagar, Assam: Road construction through Maskara Tea Estate to connect Sivasagar Medical College & Hospital with the highway was halted on Tuesday after tea garden workers and members of the Assam Tea Tribes Students’ Association (ATTSA) staged a protest.

Protesters opposed the project, saying no road should pass through the tea estate. Revenue and police officials later reached the site to assess the situation.
