The current Bharat Jodo Justice Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, started its journey from Tuli in Nagaland to Jorhat in Assam on the fifth day, marking a significant leg of the journey. The Congress politician stated without hesitation that Assam most likely has the most corrupt governance in India.

The day started off with a spectacular flag-off in Sivasagar, Assam, which gave the procession a ceremonial touch. Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP and RSS of sustaining economic, social, and political injustice in the state in his address to the people.
