Ripun Bora Seeks Probe into EVMs, Raises Questions Over Assam Poll Process

Guwahati: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Working President Ripun Bora on Saturday questioned the credibility of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) used in the recently concluded Assam Assembly elections, alleging unexplained spikes in polling percentages and irregularities in vote counting. He urged the Election Commission of India to clarify the alleged anomalies and called for a high-level inquiry into the electoral process. Bora also questioned Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma over his pre-result seat predictions and his visit to Japan before the counting of votes, claiming the issues warranted thorough investigation.
