Robbery Suspect Injured in Police Firing During Escape Attempt in Kokrajhar

A robbery suspect, Amir Hussain, was shot and injured by police while trying to escape custody near a tea garden in Salakati, Kokrajhar. Hussain, accused of stealing Rs. 34 lakhs, was part of a police search operation when he attempted to flee. The police fired controlled shots, injuring his knee. He was taken to R.N.B. Civil Hospital for treatment.

The Kokrajhar police had previously arrested four suspects linked to the robbery and recovered Rs. 21.5 lakh. The arrested individuals are Amir Hussain from Manikpur, Nurul Amin Mandal from Ulubari in Chirang, Tuton Barman from Nayachara Part-1 in Kokrajhar, and Prosenjit Aich from Santingar, Kokrajhar.
