RPF Recovers Stolen Mobile Phones in Guwahati, Arrests Six
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) in Guwahati has achieved a breakthrough by recovering 26 lost or stolen mobile phones using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. This initiative marks the first instance of the RPF across Indian Railways utilizing the CEIR portal for such operations.
The operation not only resulted in the recovery of the mobile phones but also led to the arrest of six criminals involved in mobile phone theft. Overall, the RPF and NFR have blocked 232 stolen or missing mobile phones. Of these, 84 phones were traced, leading to the recovery of 26 phones, which have since been returned to their rightful owners.
