Assam CM Confirms No Change in Direct Recruitment Exam Pattern

The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, announced on Saturday that the exam pattern for the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) will remain unchanged from last year. Sarma confirmed that the exam will consist of one written exam followed by a viva-voce.

Addressing concerns on the microblogging site ‘X’, CM Sarma stated, “Aspirants’ feedback accepted. Acknowledging the feedback received from aspirants and people regarding not changing the ADRE exam pattern, we have decided that the pattern WILL REMAIN THE SAME AS LAST YEAR.”

This decision follows an earlier announcement on July 10, where Sarma indicated the ADRE would adopt a pattern similar to the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC), including prelims, mains, and viva-voce. The proposed change faced significant objections, leading the Chief Minister to revisit and ultimately retract the decision.
