RPF Seizes Drugs Worth Over ₹62 Lakh, Rescues Eight Minors

Guwahati: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway conducted multiple operations between June 9 and 10, detecting 19 cases across several states and seizing narcotics and contraband worth over ₹62 lakh.

During the operations, RPF recovered 12.666 kg of ganja, 279.21 grams of brown sugar, and 155 bottles of illicit liquor. Seven offenders were apprehended, three stolen mobile phones were recovered, and eight minors were rescued.

In a major operation at Badarpur Railway Station, RPF, along with GRP and SIB, seized 279.21 grams of brown sugar and arrested one person, who was handed over to GRP for legal action.

RPF also provided emergency medical assistance to passengers at New Jalpaiguri, Araria and Tinsukia railway stations. Officials said the operations highlight the force’s continued efforts to ensure railway security and passenger safety.
