RTI Activist Dulal Borah Under Investigation for RTI Misuse and Criminal Allegations

RTI activist Dulal Borah failed to attend a scheduled meeting with the Chief Minister’s Vigilance team on Monday, though his manager and HR personnel from NE Bharat were present. The Assam State Information Commission has accused Borah of misusing the RTI Act for personal gain, following a CID report linking him to 31 criminal cases, including extortion and conspiracy.

Borah is also connected to BJP worker Devojit Hazarika’s suicide. The Commission has suspended all 2,173 of Borah’s RTI appeals, many of which were filed late. Investigations are ongoing.
