Saikia Blames Assam Govt, KAAC for Karbi Anglong Unrest

Congress Leader of the Opposition Debabrata Saikia on Friday alleged that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council leadership, and government negligence led to the recent unrest in Karbi Anglong. He said the violence was the result of administrative failure, claimed court orders were repeatedly violated during eviction drives, and accused the government of allotting land to corporates even in Sixth Schedule areas. Meanwhile, the Assam government is set to hold a tripartite meeting with KAAC and protesting locals to address the situation.
