Sarma Denies NDA Seat-Sharing Rifts in Assam

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday dismissed speculation of seat-sharing disputes within the NDA, asserting there is no disagreement between the BJP and ally Asom Gana Parishad.

He clarified that no formal seat-sharing talks are scheduled during Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s Assam visit on December 29, and meetings with AGP leaders should not be seen as negotiations. Sarma said talks would escalate to the Home Minister only if consensus fails.

On BJP’s internal process, he said seat-sharing discussions would be handled only by himself and state BJP president Dilip Saikia, underlining that coordination within the alliance remains intact.
