SDRF Recovers Body of Teacher Drowned in Brahmaputra River

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) recovered the body of Utpal Saikia, a 43-year-old teacher, who drowned in the Brahmaputra River in Majuli. After 8 hours of search efforts, Saikia’s body was found following a boat capsizing incident.

Saikia, along with two others, was crossing the river in a country boat near the Kordoiguri area when the vessel capsized. While the other two passengers were rescued, Saikia went missing. He was a resident of Bhalukmara village and a teacher by profession.
