Section 144 is being implemented along the Bangladesh border by the Karimganj administration

Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure was implemented by the Karimganj administration along its border with Bangladesh to prevent the movement of subversive elements who could disrupt law and order in the district.

It also aims to prevent cattle smuggling through the district’s border areas, which could cause chaos. According to the district magistrate, the prohibitory order will be in effect indefinitely.
