Security Forces Destroy 25 Acres of Illegal Poppy Cultivation in Manipur

Security forces, along with the forest department, destroyed 25 acres of illegal poppy cultivation across Churachandpur and Senapati districts in Manipur. About 15 acres were cleared in Churachandpur and 10 acres in Senapati, where three huts were also burnt. The operation is part of the state’s ongoing crackdown on illicit poppy farming linked to narcotics trafficking. Earlier this month, over 306 acres of illegal poppy fields were destroyed in Kangpokpi district.
