Security Tightened in Barak Valley Ahead of Amit Shah’s Visit

Security has been stepped up across Cachar district ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the Barak Valley on April 7.
Cachar SSP Sanjib Saikia said extensive security arrangements and possible traffic diversions have been put in place to ensure safety during the visit.
Shah is scheduled to address three major rallies in Sribhumi, Hailakandi, and Silchar as part of his final campaign push in the region. Assam minister Kaushik Rai said the visit includes a three-phase tour, culminating in a large rally at Silchar Police Ground.
Party leaders and workers are actively campaigning across constituencies, focusing on outreach and highlighting BJP’s promises.
This marks Shah’s second visit to the region after his earlier trip in February.
