Singer Zubeen Garg Advocates for Plants Over Traditional Gamusa Amid Global Warming Concerns

Amid concerns about global warming, popular Assamese playback singer Zubeen Garg expressed a preference for plants over the traditional Gamusa, a significant cultural symbol of Assam.

At a function organized by ‘Unite Club’ in Pathsala’s Kenduguri area, a child offered Zubeen Garg a plant sapling. Despite being felicitated with Gamusas, Japis, and handmade photos by the committee members, Garg was particularly moved by the child’s gift. He remarked, “I like plants better than Gamusa. There is no use of Gamusa. Please offer me more plants instead of Gamusa, as plants are more valuable.”
