Small Tea Growers Protest in Dibrugarh Over Unfair Prices

Hundreds of small tea growers under AASTGA staged a protest at Chowkidinghee, Dibrugarh, demanding fair prices for green tea leaves. They accused the Assam government and Tea Board of neglect, as private factories pay only ₹12–14 per kg against the benchmark ₹26. Leaders warned of unrest if prices aren’t enforced. Growers submitted a memorandum seeking strict penalties on violators, transparent pricing, and a separate ministry for small tea growers.
