Social Activist Preserves Cultural Heritage by Collecting Abandoned Saffron Flags
Dipankar Mazumder, a young social activist, embarked on a mission to collect and preserve abandoned saffron flags from Ram Navami celebrations in Dhubri. These flags, once vibrant symbols of unity and joy, were left to deteriorate over time. Mazumder’s initiative, supported by his friends Rakesh Ghosh and Bapi Biswas, highlights the importance of cherishing and protecting cultural heritage.
Reflecting on the significance of the flags, Mazumder expressed sorrow over their neglect and emphasized the transient nature of celebration. The collected flags were respectfully submerged into the Brahmaputra River, symbolizing a poignant act of cultural preservation.
