SSB Intensifies Border Vigilance: Seizes Contraband Ahead of Elections

With the parliamentary election drawing near, the SSB along the Indo-Bhutan border has heightened surveillance on illegal activities. In a recent operation by the B. Coy of the 6th Bn.SSB in Datgari, a Yamaha Cygnus Ray ZR Scooty loaded with contraband was seized at Bharat-Bhutan Gate. The scooter was found carrying 36 bottles of 1100 Super Strong beer and 12 bottles of Bhutani whiskey without proper documentation. The driver, Karteng Narzary, failed to provide adequate papers and was apprehended. The seized items, including the scooter, are valued at approximately Rs. 56,336 and handed over to the Land Customs Office.
