State Govt to Set Up First Sewage Treatment Plant to Boost Urban Sanitation

The state government will establish its first sewage treatment plant near Meghdoot Cinema Hall and Borsola Beel at a cost of ₹1,460 crore. Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah announced that the plant will cover central city areas, with work starting in three months and completion in five years. Two more plants are planned for Silsako and Boragaon. The government also aims to convert Boragaon’s waste dumping site into an urban forest and relocate people from hilly areas to safer cluster housing.
