Successful Joint Operation Leads to Arrest of Alleged Wildlife Poacher in Orang National Park

In a collaborative effort, the forest officials of Orang National Park, in conjunction with Dalgaon Police from Assam’s Darrang district, apprehended 42-year-old Mahidul Islam on Thursday night. The arrest follows accusations of his involvement in killing and poaching wildlife within the national park. The operation, conducted in the Khajuwabil area under Rowta police station in Udalguri district, resulted in the recovery of a horn from a recently killed mature deer in Islam’s possession. Authorities are currently interrogating the accused poacher to extract further information related to the incident.
