ABVP Protests Alleged Assault on Women in Sandeshkhali, Demands Justice and Government Intervention

Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Silchar Mahanagar expressed strong condemnation against reported atrocities and assaults on women in Sandeshkhali village, West Bengal. In a symbolic gesture, they burned the effigy of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Subsequently, ABVP members, including Rohit Chanda and Tushar Ghosh, sent a memorandum to President Droupadi Murmu, outlining demands for justice in the Sandeshkhali incident. The demands include a high-level investigation, immediate arrest of culprits, activation of a helpline, provision of free legal aid and counseling for survivors, and the deployment of Central Forces to address the prevailing fear.
