Supreme Court Grants Anticipatory Bail to Pawan Khera in Assam Case

The Supreme Court of India has granted anticipatory bail to Pawan Khera in a case filed by Assam Police over his remarks against Riniki Bhuyan Sarma.

The court set aside the earlier order of the Gauhati High Court, observing that personal liberty under Article 21 should not be affected by politically motivated proceedings. The bench said there was no clear need for custodial interrogation at this stage.

Khera has been directed to cooperate with the investigation, avoid influencing witnesses, and seek permission before leaving India.
