A 71-year-old man was killed, and five others were injured after suspected Kuki militants targeted the residence of former Manipur Chief Minister Mairembam Koireng in Bishnupur district with a powerful bomb. The bomb, lobbed from a distance, exploded in the compound, killing R.K. Rabei, who was preparing for a local ceremony. Koireng and his family were not present during the attack.
