Swine Flu Alert in Hailakandi District After Child’s Death
The health department in Hailakandi has issued a high alert following the reported spread of the H1N1 swine flu virus after the tragic death of a one-and-a-half-year-old child. The district surveillance officer, Dr. KTS Rongmei, initiated an inquiry and directed paramedical staff and ASHA workers to conduct door-to-door surveys in the affected area. Four more individuals, including a child, have been infected and are receiving treatment. However, the district commissioner confirmed that there is no outbreak of swine flu in the region.
