Teacher Accused of Sexual Harassment in Dhubri School

In a disturbing incident, a male student in Class VII of a private school in Dhubri was allegedly sexually harassed by one of his teachers. The victim’s father filed a complaint at the Dhubri Sadar police station, accusing the teacher of sexual assault and humiliation. The accused teacher, Jahangir Alom, resides in the village of Jhagrarpar near Itbhata area. Despite the complaint, Alom has not yet been taken into custody by the local authorities, leading to public outrage and concerns about the handling of the case.

According to the victim’s father, his son attends a private school on GTB Road in Dhubri. On May 14, the student returned home upset and revealed that the teacher had forcibly taken him to the toilet and sexually harassed him, threatening harm if he disclosed the incident. The father promptly lodged a complaint, resulting in the registration of a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
