Teacher Arrested in Dhubri for Suspected Links with Banned JeI

Golakganj police arrested Hazrat Ali, a teacher from Lakshmimari ME School, for alleged ties with the banned Jamaat-e-Islami of Bangladesh (JeI). Ali, who had been absconding, was caught in Kokrajhar’s Kazigaon area. Police said he is under interrogation, with investigations into his suspected network ongoing. This is the third such arrest in recent months, raising concerns over extremist activities in border areas of Assam.
