Teenager Escapes Assault in Assam Tea Garden

In a disturbing incident in Assam’s Sonitpur district, a minor girl was allegedly molested at a tea garden in Dhekiajuli. The assault occurred while she was returning home from her tuition class. Sahidul Islam, the perpetrator, forced her into the garden and attempted to sexually assault her. Fortunately, she managed to escape. Her father lodged a complaint, leading to the arrest of the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has condemned the assault and promised strong action against the perpetrators.
