Tension at Assam–Nagaland Border After Saplings Uprooted in Rengma Forest

Senior officials from Nagaland and the CRPF inspected the Rengma Reserved Forest in Assam’s Golaghat after saplings planted by the Assam Forest Department were allegedly uprooted by a large group from Nagaland. Local reports also claimed abandoned houses were set on fire. Authorities declined to comment ahead of a scheduled Assam–Nagaland meeting. An FIR has been filed, and police will investigate. Tension remains high in the disputed area.
