Tension Rises in Manipur After Houses Set Ablaze in Imphal West

Imphal: Fresh tension erupted in Manipur’s Imphal West district on Saturday after several abandoned houses belonging to the Meitei community were allegedly set on fire in the Kanto Sabal area. Security forces prevented a large crowd from entering the area and used tear gas to avert further escalation.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation, while heavy security remains deployed to maintain law and order.
