Tezpur University Plans New Departments for 2026–27 Session

Tezpur University has started preparations for the 2026–27 academic session with plans to expand its academic programmes. Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Amarendra Kumar Das said the university is awaiting UGC approval to launch seven new departments, including Economics, Psychology, Political Science, Geography, Performing Arts, and Vocational Studies & Skill Development.

He also informed that the Ministry of Education has approved a new Department of Tribal Studies, which will be launched soon.
