Tezpur University Researchers Develop Device for Fish Quality Detection
Three researchers from Tezpur University have created an eco-friendly, smartphone-based device to detect fish spoilage. Led by Monica Yumnam under Prof Poonam Mishra, the innovation uses a polyaniline sensor to detect ammonia levels, signaling spoilage. The portable tool has been awarded the Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) 2023. The device offers an affordable, efficient solution to monitor fish quality, especially in areas lacking refrigeration, promoting food safety and reducing waste.
