The cabinet of Assam approves the township policy for planned urban growth

The state township policy, which aims to ensure organised and planned urban development throughout the state, has been approved by the Assam cabinet.

The Health and Family Welfare Minister, Keshab Mahanta, stated at a media briefing following the cabinet meeting on Thursday that the policy will control and direct the growth of urban areas in an organised manner, thereby reducing the exploitation of resources.
