The IMD has issued a rainfall warning for Assam and Meghalaya
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported on Tuesday night that Cyclone Hamoon had intensified into a’very severe’ cyclonic storm and had been moving east-northeastwards over the Bay of Bengal for the past 6 hours.
As per IMD “Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “Hamoon” (pronounced as Hamoon) over Northwest & adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal. It is likely to weaken gradually and cross Bangladesh coast between Khepupara and Chittagong around evening of 25th October as a cyclonic storm with wind speed of 65 to 75 kmph gusting to 85 kmph,”
