Three Arrested in Guwahati Theft Case, Stolen LPG Cylinder Recovered

Guwahati, September 7, 2026: An investigation into the alleged theft of an LPG cylinder in Guwahati has led to the arrest of three people, with police also recovering additional stolen property.

The operation was conducted by an East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) team from Dispur Police Station. Police first arrested Gopal Roy of Dhubri after allegedly finding him in possession of an LPG cylinder that had been reported stolen.

The investigation subsequently expanded, leading police to two alleged associates. They were identified as Himan Kalyan Borah of Hengrabari and Raju Roy of Dhubri.

According to Guwahati Police, additional stolen items were recovered during the follow-up investigation. The recoveries are being examined as part of the ongoing probe into the theft case and the possible involvement of the three arrested individuals.

The latest action reflects continued police efforts to trace stolen property and identify those allegedly involved in property-related offences across the city. Investigators are expected to examine the circumstances surrounding the recovered items and establish how they came into the possession of the accused.

Legal proceedings are underway, while further investigation into the case continues.
