TMC Faces Setback in Cachar as 50 Leaders Join BJP

Silchar, Cachar: The Trinamool Congress suffered a setback in Cachar after district president Rajesh Deb, senior leader Mohan Lal Das and 48 other party leaders and workers joined the BJP ahead of the Silchar Municipal Corporation election.

Silchar, Cachar: BJP state president Dilip Saikia welcomed the new members at the party’s Cachar district office, in the presence of Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev. The development is being seen as a boost to the BJP’s organisational strength in the Barak Valley ahead of Silchar’s first municipal corporation election scheduled for October 3.
