Traffic Restrictions Announced in Guwahati for Vote Counting Day

Due to the vote counting for the 2024 General Parliamentary Election, DCP Traffic, Guwahati has implemented specific traffic restrictions for Tuesday. Heavy goods vehicles are restricted on NH-27 within Guwahati City from 4 am on June 4 until the counting concludes. Vehicles from Jyotikuchi towards Rajiv Gandhi Road will be diverted to A.K Azad Road, and Rajiv Gandhi Road will be a no-vehicle and no-parking zone. No vehicles from the IOCL side can enter the service lane towards Maniram Dewan Trade Centre. Vehicles from Garchuk towards the centre will be diverted via the NH-27 flyover bridge. These restrictions do not apply to election duty personnel, poll-related materials, and emergency service vehicles, including fire tenders, ambulances, and those carrying life-saving drugs or oxygen cylinders.
