Traffic Restrictions in Guwahati on May 12 for PM Modi’s Visit

Narendra Modi will visit Guwahati on May 12 to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the new Assam Government, prompting city police to issue a traffic advisory.

Traffic restrictions will remain in force from 9 am to 2 pm across several major routes. Heavy vehicles will not be allowed on NH-27 and NH-17 during this period, while parking has also been prohibited on these highways.

Authorities have also declared the Panjabari to Six Mile stretch on GS Road a no-parking zone. Commuters have been advised to avoid congested routes and airport passengers have been asked to leave at least two hours early due to expected traffic diversions and heavy congestion.
