ULFA(I) Extortion Racket Busted in Dibrugarh, Three Arrested

Dibrugarh Police have arrested three persons for allegedly running an extortion racket in the name of banned outfit ULFA(I) and demanding Rs 60 lakh from a doctor in Moran. The accused were identified as Krishna Moni Chetia, Jintu Gogoi, and Sanjay Gogoi.

Police launched an operation after the doctor received threatening calls, SMS messages, and an extortion letter warning his family. Investigation revealed the trio allegedly used the name of ULFA(I) to target several people across Upper Assam, especially in Dibrugarh and Sivasagar districts.

All three accused are currently in Moran Police custody, and further investigation is underway.
