Tragic Dual Incidents Unfold in Hailakandi as Two Individuals Fatally Struck by Trains

Two separate heartbreaking incidents occurred in Hailakandi district on Sunday night, resulting in the tragic demise of two individuals who were run over by trains.

In the first incident, a 55-year-old e-rickshaw puller named Ajit Samanta met a fatal accident in the Hanuman Temple area of Hailakandi town. According to eyewitnesses, after parking his rickshaw, Samanta was crossing the Mizoram connecting railway track when a speeding goods train struck him from behind. The police have sent the severed body for a post-mortem examination.

Meanwhile, in another part of the district, Kutil Uddin faced a similar fate as he was run over by the Sealdah-Silchar express train at Umarpur while walking near the track. Following the tragic incident, Uddin was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. However, despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries after being transferred to Silchar Medical College and Hospital.
