Two Arrested With 207-Year-Old British-Era Bronze Land Patta in Biswanath

Biswanath police seized a 207-year-old British-era bronze land patta from two men during a vehicle search on NH-15. The artifact, issued in 1818 under the British East India Company, was allegedly being smuggled for illegal sale. The arrested duo, Hemanta Gogoi and Mintu Borah, were detained along with their vehicle. Police suspect the antique could fetch crores in the international market. Further investigation is underway.
