Two Assam Tourism Officers Arrested in 2012–13 Recruitment Scam

The Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell has arrested two Assam Tourism Department officers, Pranjal Bora and Ananya Borthakur, in connection with a 2012–13 recruitment scam. Both were already under suspension and had been questioned earlier. Eight officials are implicated in the case, including six others already suspended. One of them, Nayanmoni Pamegam, who had been absconding, was recently caught. Investigators say the probe is nearly complete and a chargesheet will be filed soon.
