Two Declared Foreigners Ordered to Leave Assam Within 24 Hours

Two women declared foreigners by a Foreigners’ Tribunal in Assam’s Biswanath district have been ordered to leave the state within 24 hours. The expulsion order was issued by the district administration under the Immigrants (Expulsion from Assam) Act, 1950.

Both women are currently lodged at the Goalpara detention camp and were directed to exit Assam via Dhubri, Sribhumi or South Salmara–Mankachar routes. Officials warned that failure to comply would invite coercive action.

The move follows similar recent expulsion orders against 15 declared foreigners in Nagaon district, as Assam continues its pushback drive against illegal immigrants.
