Two Killed After Car Plunges Into Pond in Jamugurihat

Jamugurihat: Two people were killed after a Swift car carrying three passengers plunged into a pond beside the four-lane national highway at Kusumtola early Tuesday morning. The deceased were identified as driver Vicky Barman and Babul Kalita. The third passenger, Nongpur Samik Shur of Meghalaya, escaped.

Police and Fire & Emergency Services personnel recovered the vehicle and bodies from the pond. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
